Marie Maurel

Marie Maurel is Head of Water Resources and Biodiversity activities at Veolia’s Connected Solutions business, where she leads innovative projects focused on smart water management and biodiversity preservation. These initiatives are primarily based on the deployment of connected sensors and the advanced use of data.

With over 20 years of experience, she contributes to the development of connected solutions that enable public authorities and private stakeholders to better manage drinking water network quality, anticipate pollution risks, and preserve biodiversity through continuous monitoring.

Leveraging IoT technologies and data platforms, Marie works on projects that transform environmental data into concrete actions, including:

• early detection of water quality events and continuous monitoring to protect public health,
• support for better managing water network assets through the detection of transient pressure changes that have a significant impact on pipelines,
• improved monitoring of biodiversity dynamics to assess ecosystem health and reduce the impact of human activities.

This approach makes it possible to shift from reactive to predictive and sustainable management of natural resources.

Beyond technology, Marie supports stakeholders in their transition toward a strategic use of environmental data, positioning Veolia’s Connected Solutions business as a key player in building more resilient regions and areas as we face climate and ecological challenges.
