Vania’s experience and expertise

Vania Pecheu Bovet is Head of Group Data & AI Strategy at Carrefour, where she defines and drives the Group’s global Data and Artificial Intelligence strategy, steering its digital transformation.

At the helm of this strategic roadmap, she ensures technological convergence and the industrialization of Data & AI projects, turning them into a lever for operational performance and a competitive advantage shared across all international entities.

She notably led the scaling of generative AI at Carrefour: after deploying AI.Carrefour (the Group’s internal Secure GPT solution), she oversaw the integration of Google Gemini to enhance employee support capabilities. This large-scale deployment now benefits 250,000 employees worldwide, streamlining business processes and fostering day-to-day innovation.

Vania is driven by her commitment to promoting an ethical, inclusive, and socially responsible approach to AI. She emphasizes the need for a common language, tailored training, and responsible governance to maximize the positive impact of AI technologies within organizations.

Active in the data and AI ecosystem, she regularly shares her expertise through conferences, podcasts, and professional initiatives, helping advance best practices around AI in retail and beyond

A word from Vania

"The challenge today is no longer about industrialization; AI is already serving employees in simple and effective ways. The lingering question is about its future: will it be a mere performance tool, or a lever for progress reflecting a more equitable society?"
